Photographer / Media Intern

Organization:

Bay Area Champions Foundation is a San Jose–based nonprofit organization on a mission to create more playing opportunities for players in the community, through soccer leagues, tournaments, and events for adults while promoting health, discipline, and local partnerships. 

Role Overview:

The Photographer / Media Intern will assist with capturing high-quality photo and video content during league nights, tournaments, and events. This role is ideal for students interested in sports photography, media production, or visual storytelling. The intern will report directly to the Founder & Director.

Responsibilities:

• Capture photos and short video clips at games and events
• Organize and upload media files for internal use and social platforms
• Assist with basic photo editing and content selection
• Work with the marketing team to support social media and recap posts
• Help document key moments, teams, and community engagement

Learning Outcomes:

Interns will gain experience in:

• Sports and event photography
• Visual storytelling for nonprofit organizations
• Content organization and media workflows
• Collaboration with marketing and operations teams
• Development of a sports and event photography portfolio.
  

Requirements: 

• Interest in photography or media content creation
• Basic experience using a camera or smartphone for photo/video
• Access to a personal camera or smartphone suitable for photo/video capture
• Availability for at least one weekday evening
• Reliable transportation to San Jose locations

Logistics: 

• Internship Dates: March – May 
• Unpaid internship (eligible for academic credit)
• 5–6 hours per week
• In-person on event days + remote administrative support
  • In-person event will take place weekday nights 8-10 PM (final days to be confirmed, but we’re looking to start with Tuesday and Thursday nights) 
• Ideal majors: Photography, Media Arts, Film, Communications, Journalism
