Marketing / Social Media Intern

Organization:

Bay Area Champions Foundation is a San Jose–based nonprofit organization on a mission to create more playing opportunities for players in the community, through soccer leagues, tournaments, and events for adults while promoting health, discipline, and local partnerships. 

Role Overview:

The Marketing Intern will support the foundation’s digital presence, social media content, and promotional efforts. This role is ideal for students interested in marketing, communications, social media, or digital content creation. The intern will report directly to the Founder & Director.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with social media content planning and scheduling
• Create Instagram posts, stories, and short-form video content
• Help design flyers and promotional graphics for leagues and events
• Support sponsor shoutouts and community engagement posts
• Assist with basic analytics tracking and content performance review
• Capture content at events when available
• Collaborate with the organization’s leadership to align content with upcoming events and campaigns.

Interns will gain experience in:

• Social media marketing strategy
• Brand development for a nonprofit organization
• Content creation for sports and community organizations
• Digital storytelling and audience engagement
• Marketing campaign planning and execution

Requirements: 

• Interest in marketing, social media, or digital content creation
• Familiarity with Instagram and short-form content (Reels, Stories)
• Basic communication and time-management skills
• Availability for at least one weekday evening
• Reliable transportation to San Jose locations

Logistics:

• Internship Dates: March – May 
• Unpaid internship (eligible for academic credit)
• 5–6 hours per week
• In-person on event days + remote administrative support
  • In-person event will take place weekday nights 8-10 PM (final days to be confirmed, but we’re looking to start with Tuesday and Thursday nights) 
• Ideal majors: Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, Graphic Design
