Player Participation Code of Conduct
The mission of the Bay Area Champions Player Code of Conduct is to create a welcoming environment built on respect, sportsmanship, fair play, player safety, and friendly competition.
This Code of Conduct applies to all players, teams, spectators, coaches, and participants involved in Bay Area Champions leagues and related activities. By registering for or participating in any Bay Area Champions league, you acknowledge and agree to comply with this Code of Conduct.
Violations of the Code of Conduct, as determined solely by Bay Area Champions staff, may result in disciplinary action including warnings, suspension, or permanent removal from league participation without refund.
All participants agree to the following:
- I will be respectful toward teammates, opponents, staff, officials, spectators, and venue personnel at all times.
- I will demonstrate good sportsmanship in both victory and defeat.
- I will be honest, fair, and respectful during all league activities.
- I will respect the decisions of referees, team captains, and league staff and communicate in an appropriate manner.
- I will not bully, intimidate, harass, threaten, or abuse anyone in person or online.
- I will not engage in violence, physical aggression, verbal threats, or derogatory language.
- I will follow all safety protocols and league guidelines.
- I will follow all venue rules and instructions from venue staff.

Refund Policy
By registering for a Bay Area Champions league, you agree to the following refund policies:
- All league registrations are non-refundable. League rosters are limited, and late withdrawals disrupt league planning and operations.
- Refunds will not be issued due to:
- Schedule changes
- Work conflicts
- Team or player relocation
- Injury
- Suspension or removal due to rule violations
- If a league is cancelled due to insufficient registration or venue-related issues, players will be offered placement in an alternative league. If an alternative league is not suitable, a full refund may be issued.
- If a league is cancelled due to COVID-19 related issues, players will be offered placement in an alternative league or a full refund if participation is not possible.
- In rare cases, league start dates may be delayed due to roster completion, venue conflicts, or unforeseen circumstances. Delayed starts do not qualify for refunds.
- If games are postponed due to weather or facility issues, Bay Area Champions will make reasonable efforts to reschedule games. If rescheduling is not possible, refunds will be issued only for the affected games.
- Makeup games may be scheduled on alternate dates or as doubleheaders. Inability to attend makeup games does not qualify for a refund.
Fighting Policy
Bay Area Champions enforces a zero-tolerance policy toward fighting and physical altercations.
Any player, players, or team involved in a fight may be immediately removed from the league, including playoffs, at the sole discretion of Bay Area Champions staff. No refunds will be issued in cases involving fighting or violent behavior.
Forfeit Policy
To ensure a positive experience for all teams, Bay Area Champions requires teams to provide at least 24 hours’ notice if they are unable to attend a scheduled game.
- When notice is provided, Bay Area Champions will attempt to arrange an alternate opponent.
- Teams that forfeit two games in a season may be removed from playoff eligibility.
- Failure to show without notice may result in disciplinary action.
Referee Policy
- Each team must pay the referee fee of $15 per game in cash, unless otherwise stated.
- Referee fees are not included in league registration fees.
- Failure to pay referee fees may result in:
- Ineligibility to play subsequent games
- Late fees
- Removal from the league for repeated non-payment
Weather Policy
Weather conditions and field availability are sometimes outside of our control.
- Bay Area Champions will notify teams as early as possible if weather impacts scheduling.
- The City of San Jose may close fields regardless of weather conditions; these decisions must be honored.
- If games are rained out, Bay Area Champions will attempt to reschedule up to two rainout games per season, but cannot guarantee additional makeups beyond that.
Jersey & Uniform Policy
- Teams must wear matching jersey colors on game day.
- Matching shorts and socks are not required.
- Only jersey color consistency is enforced.
- Bay Area Champions does not provide jerseys unless otherwise stated.
Drug & Alcohol Policy
Drugs and alcohol are strictly prohibited at all Bay Area Champions venues. This applies to players, coaches, spectators, and fans. Violations may result in immediate removal without refund.
